The people at Anderson are great Tyler is easy to deal with I received this upper yesterday is mated well to my Anderson lower with minimal wobble only issue was I got a 1/9 twist barrel instead of a 1/7 twist barrel however I ordered a threaded barrel so it might be my fault on that but otherwise great product and super fast shipping I ordered mine on Friday and I received it on Monday I would highly recommend Anderson

I wanted to see just how little I could spend and get a super accurate, heavy bullet shooting rifle that I could use for either target or varmint shooting around the farm, and at $239.00, this 1:7 twist 20″ HBAR upper fit the bill. Now that I have all of the parts and pieces, let’s build an AR!
I mounted the upper on a Palmetto State Defense lower, dressed it up with some Remington Realtree camo furniture, then topped it off with a Bushnell 4.5-18×40 .223/AR series scope and headed to the range.
Once I got it sighted in with some 55 grain VMAX bullets, I started shooting for group with 3 different loads ranging from 50 to 69 grains at 100 yards, all loaded by Precision One Ammunition. Not expecting the lighter bullets to do very well, I was a little shocked.
The first serious 5-shot, 100-yard group was fired using the 50 grain VMAX. This was the most accurate with none of the groups measuring over 1/2″ C-T-C. This load rewarded me with one group that measured 3/8″ C-T-C. A single ragged hole! I wanted a heavy bullet shooter, but who can argue with that level of accuracy? Next up was their 55 grain VMAX. This load was extremely accurate as well. I have a carbine that will shoot 5-shots into 1/2″ groups all day long with these, and this 20″ HBAR wasn’t much different, but the groups did open up just a little. My best group with the 55 grain VMAX was 1/2″ C-T-C, and my biggest was 7/8″ C-T-C. Still not too bad! Now comes the heavy 69 grain BTHP bullets. Not as accurate as the lighter bullets, but the accuracy was still okay. My best group was 1″, but most of the time the groups were in the 1-1/2″ range.
Even though I wanted a heavy bullet shooter that would shoot 5-shot groups under a 1/2″, am I disappointed? Absolutely not! Would I buy again from these folks? You bet I would! And I will again! I put 200 rounds through this rifle (Anderson upper) the first day out to the range and it performed perfectly without one single malfunction. It fed and shot every load that was required of it, and it rewarded me with little “cloverleaf” groups all afternoon that made me think that I’m a much better shooter than I really am. It deserves, and gets 5-stars!

I have no idea how Anderson can sell an upper with a 20 inch HBAR for this price. I’m glad they do though, I’ll be ordering a couple more.

Took a bit longer then anticipated to show up in the mail but it was well worth the wait! Everything fits snugly with my lower and little to no wiggle. Minor blemish in the finish on the ear just behind the dust cover (yes dust cover and forward assist are on this upper), figure shipping or warehouse storage caused that. But for the price not a big at all and it still shoots the same. Overall very impressed with the product and look forward to doing business with Anderson again!

Well came back to order one for another build, but saw that they are asking $251 now instead of $239 what the heck? Glad i got mine when it was the cheaper price and a much better deal, sorry Anderson but you lost a sale. I give it 3 stars cause of the price now it was a full 5 star at its original price!

Recieved well before I expected to get it! Opened the box and all hail exactly what I expected. Mated perfectly to my spikes lower. Zero blemishes, great price and overall awesome product. Well definitely be buying from Anderson again in the future.

What is the twist rate on this upper? Does it have a standard front site? What handguards does it come with? and why no picture?

Anderson, could you please post a picture of this upper? Does it include a front sight? I already have all the other parts ready to build a rifle.

Shipped in a decent amount of time product looks and feels great only problem is that the other reviews are misleading some people claim this barrel is 1:7 twist others who work for Anderson claim 1:8 and the one i received is 1:9 twist also product description does not state what twist rate is that is why i only rated 3 stars

    • Thanks for the insight.
we will look at the description and make the proper change.
