I purchased a Anderson 6.8 barrel from a local dealer. I have 5 different calibers now. I believe the 6.8 has become my favorite. I am overall impressed with accuracy and quality of the barrel at a very reasonable price. My only reservation about the product is the thread pitch of the muzzle as it limits choices of devices. It’s my belief that the companies thread choice is adequate as it prevents installation of incorrect devices and is necessary from a safety aspect. I would recommend this product.

Thank you on the great write up and your correct, it’s a safety concern!

I also purchased a 6.8 SPC Barrel from my local dealer as well as a matching bolt and flash suppressor. I was very impressed with the fit, finish and quality of your products and will fully recommend them to anyone that plans on a build. Thank you.

Great barrel as usual with anderson. But what is the thread pitch on this? 1/2×28?
Okay. I thought all were 5/8×24. Figured 1/2 would be too small for the bullet. The first review is what had me wondering

Barrel shoots good despite the economy price.
The threads are 1/2″ with 36 TPI, that’s 1/2″ by 36 TPI, on mine.

Purchased my Anderson barrel through a local dealer. Finally got a chance to shoot it after a few months. It shoots great and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Don’t hesitate to get this barrel.

At first sight barrel looks great; packaged great and fast shipping. Lightweight & everything described in specs is true.
Can’t verify an down rang a data; build is near complete, waiting on parts.
Don’t mean to beat a horse dead but all 1/2 x 28 thread pitch muzzle devices with that size also have .223 or 5.56mm in the specs??
I’m going through with this build however wondering if I will need a helmet the first day out? I did pick up some thread protector however still states 1/2 x 28. Shall I just stick to the size stated and worry no more?
Any input is greatly appreciated

The thread is 1/2 X 36
– February 18, 2016
Purchased my 6.8 barrel directly from anderson. Great fast shipping great packaging with my other products I ordered at the same time. Added clarification the thread rate IS 1/2X36 to prevent someone from threading a.223 can or muzzle device on it. For safety reasons. Build is off to get a paint job and will provide an update once I get some rounds down range. Great service will be buying from anderson again.

barrel extension is pinned perfectly for m4 feed ramps to line up exactly centered in upper. I have seen many that don’t line up and people use dremel tool to smooth ramps. No such problem with this barrel. the rest of the barrel looks great, finish is as good as any other brands. muzzle treads are perfect. Shipping was very fast packaging very good. price is also very good. I have not fired it yet but I can’t see any reason why there would be a problem. Accuracy report I’ll post on 6.8forum. My second AR build that included Anderson parts. It’s just too bad they are out of stock so often on items due to demand.

Will these be in Stock again soon?

Less than 1 inch groups at 100 yards with American eagle fmj. Thread pitch is 1/2×36. I bought the Anderson bolt to. Should be good for taking down white tail.

got this the barrel about month ago and shot it then the shells were goin at 12:00 to 1:00 clock and it was over gased so I had to put a adjustable gas block on the barrel and now the shells shoots 4:00 to 5:00 the way they sud I think they drilled too big gas hole for the barrel but its working now with the adjustable gas block

Purchased a 6.8mm SPC II barrel from Anderson direct. Few carry 6.8mm ammo in my neck of the woods, much less 6.8mm AR barrels! Matched to Anderson stripped upper AND lower! Awesome setup!
I still have blued steel and walnut in my safe. This year, I’ve hunted exclusively with AR’s.
Took my first deer with an AR (.308) and now looking to take a doe with my Anderson 6.8mm SPC II.
I shoot a handloaded Sierra 90gr FBHP at about 2900 fps. No doe yet! BUT! I’ve taken THREE feral hogs with my 6.8mm! All one shot kills. From 20 yards to a bit over a 100!
Awesome accuracy from my “awesome” Anderson barrel!
The 6.8mm SPC II has just about GOT to be THE ultimate AR round!
Thank you Anderson for a great barrel and great products and service!

Changed from a Sierra 90 gr HP to a Hornady 110 gr V-Max.
On Dec 21, took another feral hog. That’s a total of four for the year
Went back Dec 22 for one more chance at a doe.
Finally got a doe to stop about 120 yards out.
The 6.8mm and the Hornady V-Max proved deadly!

I’m interested in purchasing one for a new build. Will I be able to use my Gemtech Tracker thread on suppressor with this Barrel?
– August 7, 2017
not sure looks like you need to have a 5/8-24 thread for the Gemtech.
This barrel thread is 1/2-36

Well built barrel. It cycled great with no gas issues or stuck cases. Being a handloader, I was expecting better accuracy. I consistently got 1.5 to 2 inch groups with all slower burning powders. Faster powders went everywhere. I tried 120, 110, 100 and 90 grain bullets. Those groups are acceptable with some shooters, but I just have higher expectations.
– August 11, 2017
we are sorry to ear about the accuracy?
What ammo factory ammo are you using?
Are you using all Anderson parts in the firearm?
Keep us posted about the issue
– December 13, 2017
I have all Anderson parts for my 6.8spc2 still need muzzle device and bolt carrier group. Was hoping to use it to take my son out for his first deer . Will have to keep are fingers crossed. But what can you do when you got great kids.
