What is the annealed material and how many rounds would you think rd rated for? Also, what kind of accuracy/range will this get. Thank you

Worst barrel ever I bought it cause I thought I might be cool but there is no reason for this barrel to be made even with subsonic ammo I’m still having timing issues, the pressure is to high and the gun gets dirty way to fast I would never buy this product again in a million years….worst barrel ever not to mention I asked them after I bought the barrel why they made it and they deleted my post so here is my full review… not buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Tom Steffner

If your shooting Subsonic you should use a pistol length gas system with an adjustable gas block.

FYI it says pistol gas tube on the add . Now if you put a 4.9 oz buffer in it you won’t be having timing issues . Okay . Now dong pay attention to rating because I do not have this barrel . Mine is 18 inch fluted mid length Anderson I love it !

I bought the 14.5 but mine was carbine gas great looking barrel but after 400 to 500 hundred rounds my bullet started flipping and I tried a lot of different bullet weights they all do it.its pretty accurate at short range so I’m buying another in 16 inch I’ve saw a lot of good reviews though on it.but all in all I like Anderson products.

    • Michael Johnson

glad you are buying another barrel.
Keep us posted on the 14.5 barrel.

I have this 14.5″ in 300 blackout and 556.. I have not run into any issues at all. Hitting my marks at 150yrds. In my opinion that is the most a 556 or 300 should go.. but I have read and seen shooters go past that with no issues. These are budget barrels and they work fine. Pistol gas tubes. I use heavy buffer Spikes T2 and I have not one issue. As for timing on brakes..u don’t need to shimmy or crush washer that. Red lock thread works fine. U can time that perfect. To each their own. Overall a good budget barrel!!

Keep shooting and we are glad to hear it worked out

ANDERSON IS A QUALITY CO. I’m always pleased with everything I buy, The Barrels are no Exception. @Andersonrifles can keep cost down much better because of the system of doing everything possible #inhouse, This leaves less room for error as well. I don’t work for Anderson, But I’ve built my most recent short barrel style 5.56 on an #anderson matched receiver set, It’s Great. For some, Just a suggestion, Get on your LOCAL forum/blog, and ask for some *local input* , give an example, etc, and You will Probably have an Old man, like me who will gladly give you pointers, LOL (Probably an older machinist, or a “Gun Smith Guy”), who will be **happy to give pointers and to steer you in the right direction. Most keep up with local laws, So we know just how much help/assistance, we can give you. **Some of you Probably remember a Gun Club that has really pushed this in the Past many , many years as a #mentoring program Its done well in some areas, **Never Put Down your Brother* *because he or she’s still learning!!** I’ve known of $300+ barrels that were undergassed, just needs the port opened up a few thousands of an inch, but ((This should only be done by a Gunsmith or machnist who has a clear knowledge of the work at hand.) I’ve ALLWAYS HAD GREAT LUCK WITH ALL PARTS FROM @andersonmanufacturing Some items your not going to make changes to due to warranty, untill some of your build changes void the warranty anyway. I used and have had a little bit of everything. Most Importantly, Have Fun !! JCB
